 Moolight Meadery – Londonderry, NH

DENVER, COLORADO – (March 21st – 23rd 2015). New Hampshire’s Moonlight Meadery, wins 5 medals, 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze, for their artisanal crafted meads (honey-wines) at the Mazer Cup International, the world’s largest professional Mead Competition held annually in Colorado, which draws entries from all over the world. The Mazer Cup is the equivalent for mead as the GABF (Great American Beer Festival) is for beer.

“I am ecstatic to once again be honored with such recognition for our craft. Moonlight Meadery has consistently not only won medals at this prestigious event every year we have entered, but increased the number of gold medals year over year. This year we took Gold for Last Apple (last of season NH apples and honey aged in Bourbon barrels); Embrace (bold dry honey and black currant) and Fury (which features Habanero, Ghost, and Scorpion chili peppers) ; Silver for Au Naturelle Raspberry traditional mead and Bronze for Wicked (Ginger Vanilla mead).” — Michael Fairbrother Founder/Mead-maker Moonlight Meadery

Moonlight Meadery started in Fairbrother’s garage back in May of 2010, and is now considered, by consumers and industry experts, as one of the best meaderies in the world. Mead has been growing in such popularity, that Amina Harris from the Honey and Pollination Center at the prestigious Robert Mondavi Institute, part of UC Davis, has worked over the past few years with Michael, along with several other mead makers, to create a Short Course on Mead Making. Michael was a guest lecturer this past year, and will be returning again this fall.
