WEEK OF AUGUST 19th

ABITA

PECAN ALE 4/6, 1/4

Pecan Ale is made with real Louisiana roasted pecans for a subtle, nutty flavor and aroma. It’s brewed with pale, Munich, biscuit and caramel malts, and Willamette hops. The roasted pecans are added in the brewhouse. Crack one open and geaux nuts!

ALESMITH

OKTOBERFEST 4/6C

This classic German-style amber lager has been brewed in Germany and Austria for hundreds of years, though it was made famous for being served at Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration since 1872. Modern versions exported to the United States are often labeled Oktoberfest and the name has become synonymous in the minds of most brewers and consumers with the traditional Märzen style, though modern iterations of the style in Europe are considerably lighter. Our take on this classic is characterized by a clean, elegant, and toasty malt character. Prost!

HAWAIIAN SPEEDWAY STOUT 1/6

One of our most popular Speedway Stout variations is back in limited supply! This variation features coconut added multiple times during the brewing process, Madagascar vanilla beans, and a rare, locally roasted Kona coffee. This beer balances the intense rich, fruity flavors of the vanilla and coconut with the roast of the coffee and the chocolate and caramel flavors of our Imperial Stout.

JUICE STAND 1/6

This hazy IPA will satisfy your hoppy cravings with its intense notes of tangerine, blueberry, bubblegum, and tropical fruits.  Its full body, smooth malt character, and soft bitterness will keep you coming back for more.

MUY SABROSO 1/6

The second release in our Hopwright series draws its bright, tropical flavors from Sabro, a new hop varietal bred in part from wild grown hops in the American Southwest. Notes of coconut, lime, tangerine, and citrus will have you reaching for more of this smooth cerveza.

LEXINGTON BREWING

BARREL AGED PUMPKIN 1/6, 6/4

A barrel-aged ale brewed with Kentucky-sourced pumpkin, richly spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice.  As the ale is aged in fresh bourbon barrels, the sweetness of caramel and vanilla are imparted upon the brew and complement its spicier base. At 10 percent alcohol by volume (ABV), this robust, limited-release seasonal makes for a flavorful sipping beer to slowly warm up with as the weather cools.

LIMFJORD PORTER 15/16.9

Limfjordsporter is an almost black Baltic Porter with a beautiful light brown creamy head. The taste is complex dominated by licorice, smoke and roasted barley, well balanced by a solid bitternes from the bittering hops (IBU 50).

FRITZ BRIEM
1809 BERLINER WEISSE  16.9

“1809” is a very traditional interpretation of the “Berliner Style” Weisse with an intense blend of lactic tartness and complex fruitiness. This calls back to a time before the tradition of adding sweet syrups to Berliner Weisse beers pushed them towards being simpler and more sour. 1809 is champagne like with it’s acidity, complexity, and carbonation.  It is bottle-conditioned, unfiltered and unpasteurized. “1809” will age beautifully in a dark and cool location.

 FURTHER 6/4C
This IPA is brewed with 4.8lbs of hops per bbl of Vic Secret, Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe hops. Unmalted wheat creates a dry profile to clean the palate, while the barbarian yeast creates the yellow haze. Take the next step, Further into the Haze.

Whatever THE FEAR is that consumes you, embrace it. Only then will the true artist in you rise up.

THE BRUERY

GOSES ARE RED 6/4, 1/6

This is a rosé – and a gose – by any other name. Goses are Red is a stylish funky, crisp and tart gose ale inspired by the soft sweetness of a rosé wine. The refreshing wheat-based ale begins with some of the qualities you’d expect from a gose, including coriander spicing and a light saltiness to complement the tartness imparted by our house cultures. But the story doesn’t end there – it builds in complexity, thanks to time spent in an oak foeder and the addition of grapes, which impart a refreshing character and color. ABV: 5.6%

BAKE COCONUT MACAROON 16C

Barrel aged imperial stout blended with a pastry imperial stout with coconut and vanilla added.

WIT THE FUNK 6/4C

Wit The Funk is crafted with tradition in mind. First we brewed a classic Wit with orange peel and coriander that’s fermented with a combination of yeasts, Brettanomyces and our own house mixed culture. Next the beer is aged to final maturation in Terreux’s Foeder Forest in a combination of American and French oak. The result is a winning combination that’s fresh with subtle complexity, balancing the classic, spiced and fruity characteristics of a Belgian-style Wit with the soft – and wild – touch from its time in the oak. No kettle sours here. Sure, it takes longer, but it’s worth it. ABV: 5-7%

WEEK OF AUGUST 12th

ALLAGASH

SAISON GRATIS: 1/6

This saison-style ale is set apart by the fact that we added hops—Calista, Grundgeist, and Strisselspalt—while it rested in our coolship and then open fermented it with saison yeast. Esters hinting at everything from orange, to pineapple, to clove spring from this beer’s nose. Its flavor spreads across the palate with the slightest hint of citrus and finishes with a balance of fruit, hops, and a dry mouthfeel. ABV: 7.2%

HEARTSET: 1/6

In collaboration with Brasserie Dupont, we’re proud to present this strong saison, Heartset. Local Maine wheat and Allagash house saison yeast impart a bright, golden base. Savinjski Golding hops from the south of Belgium nod to tradition. The beer will also be partially fermented in square-shaped tanks, to mimic the square fermentation vessels used by Brasserie Dupont. The end result is a robust saison that bursts with Belgian aromatics and finishes refreshingly dry. ABV: 8.5%

SHIRO’S DELIGHT: 1/6

The combination of a plum and a cherry is called a “Pluerry.” The combination of a plum and a Pluerry inside a mixed-fermented beer is called “Shiro’s Delight.” This ruby beer’s base is fermented with two yeast strains: a saison strain and then our house strain of Brettanomyces. After about eight months of fermentation and aging, Pluerries and plums are added before the beer rests for another four months. The finished beer has a flavor that calls to mind a mixture of tart cherry, plum, and tropical fruit with hints of spice and oak. ABV: 10.3%

THE BRUERY

OR XATA: 6/4CN, 1/6, 1/2

Horchata is a traditional, sweet, milky drink originating in Spain and Latin America that has become quite popular in Southern California, particularly with Mexican cuisine. Our homage to the traditionally non-alcoholic drink is a blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a little extra creamy character. These ingredients meld together to create a taste and experience that hints at horchata, but it’s much more than that. The flavor is hard to describe, but for those who know it, you know you love it.

WHITE CHOCOLATE: 1/6

This bourbon barrel-aged wheatwine-style ale made a fanciful trip to the chocolatier and returned with luscious flavors of white chocolate – hence the name. SCHLENKERLA

10 OAK SMOKE: 20/16

Following century old recipes all malts made at the Schlenkerla brewery are dried by wood fire. While for the classic “Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier” traditionally beech has been – and still is – used, the malt for “Schlenkerla Oak Smoke” is kilned with oak wood. The resulting Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in “Schlenkerla Oak Smoke” is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. DOGFISH HEAD

RAISON D’EXTRA: 6/4, 1/6

Raison D’Extra’s little brother Raison D’Etre was brewed to be the ultimate beer partner for steak. Plump raisins and beet sugars give the beer a similar DNA and color to red wine. D’Extra takes this concept to the next level. What 120 Minute IPA is to 60 Minute IPA, D’Extra is the D’Etre. We’re pushing the limits of what a Belgian yeast can do (and we’ve discovered that’s somewhere in the ballpark of 15% to 18% ABV!). ABV: 15.0-18.0%

LOST ABBEY

DEVOTION: 4/6

It’s an unassuming road leading to the priory. Here, off the corner of two intersecting roads, dedicated monks have been making beer for over 150 years. It’s always been a simple life — the kind that requires they brew only enough to sustain the activities of their monastery. In the silence of passing seasons, they pray, they brew and retire in solitary existence behind the sheltering walls. They live a most interesting life. Most likely one we couldn’t sustain. ABV: 6.0%

FARMHOUSE LAGER: 4/6

Farmhouse Lager is a lighter version of our long-time brew, Avant Garde. It is our first foray into the 12oz bottle/six-pack world, as we have been mostly known for large format (750ml bottles). Still beginning with an initial malt sweetness and a subtle hop presence, this lager finishes smooth and crisp. Perfect for an evening out on your porch or with some fresh baked bread pulled straight from the oven. ABV: 5.8%

CARNEVALE: 12/25

Brewed in celebration of Lent and Easter season, Carnevale is a light-bodied Saison, using Brettanomyces along with Amarillo and Simcoe hops to generate flavor and depth.
