An annual Allagash tradition, Hugh Malone Ale is a blend of both Belgian and U.S. brewing methods. This limited-release beer combines the intense aromas of American hop varieties with the delicate esters found in Belgian-style yeast. Hugh Malone is brewed with a blend of two-row malt, munich malt, oats, and raw wheat. Each year, multiple pilot batches are run to experiment with different hop combinations in search of the right balance of citrus, fruit, pine, and spice notes. This year’s Hugh Malone uses Nugget as first wort hops, added before the boil even starts. Chinook are mixed in as the wort comes to a boil. Simcoe, Cascade, and Centennial are added in the whirlpool. Then additional Centennial, Simcoe, Denali, and Citra are used to dry hop the beer.
Crazy Naval is a blend of sour wheat and blond ales aged in oak wine barrels for 14 months with fresh orange zest. Using both Cara Cara and Heirloom varietals, Crazy Naval captures the essence of the naval orange balanced with a refreshingly tart and dry base beer.
Traditional throughout Latin America, the guayabera shirt combines style, functionality, form and tradition in it’s four-pocketed design. We at Cigar City feel the same reverence and appreciation for the guayabera that we do for the Citra hop varietal, an ingredient that imparts notes of tangerine, lime and berries to this traditional American Pale Ale. The exclusive use of Citra hops in this beer creates a flavor that’s at once unique and recognizable, while it’s dry, crisp character and moderate alcohol make it as refreshing and functional as a crisp linen guayabera.
This one’s a tribute to hazy memories of Ross and Tyler’s semester in Hawaii many years ago. With the perfect balance of tropical juiciness and tartness, one sip will have you feeling like you’re cruising down the coastline with the boys, puffing on some Maui Wowie and heading for the beach. Hawaiian shirt and man-sandals not included (but not entirely discouraged).
Using a ghastly amount of El Dorado and Motueka hops, we release our newest creation. This combination of aroma and bittering hops provides bright tropical fruit flavors with a clean citrus finish. This pale ale is hoppy, refreshing and more transparent than a ghost.

The magical, mystical 12th of Never is a blend of Old and New School hops that play bright citrus, rich coconut, and papaya-esque flavors, all on a solid stage of English puffed wheat. Tropically hoppy. Light, yet full-bodied. Bright and citrusy. The 12th of Never Ale is everything we’ve learned about making hop-forward beer expressed in a moderate voice. Pale, cold, slightly alcoholic and bitter. It’s all we know.

Staying true to the name, we double dosed this IPA with Citra hops by adding them in the boil and again during the dry hop, where we combined them with Mosaic hops for their complex fruity aroma. We also used huge amounts of passion fruit and white grapefruit to create this super citrusy and refreshing IPA.
It’s time for a sesher. Hi-Res magnified the Resin… now let’s change the resolution. When you zoom out from the hop cone things can get grainy. Focus on the juice – that’ll bring the pixels back into perspective.
Big floral and tropical aromas set up this delightfully balanced white IPA. Soft yet slightly tart wheat and lightly toasted malts are complemented by the gentle bitterness of the hops. Our brewers use late hop additions and dry hopping in the brewing process to give this IPA its big hop nose without an overwhelmingly bitter taste. This brew is love at first smell. Cheers!
